Thanks to Social Media and networking with some awesome
individuals who were willing to bridge the gap on my behalf KokeshiTrends or
simply KT has blossomed and is this year, 2024,
on its 9th year of production. Solely based on volunteers, who
selflessly give of their time, and talents. KT features both the vintage dentō
Kokeshi as well as trending new dolls. Our followers on Instagram certainly keep
us updated with post of new and exciting dolls from Japan.
I am fortunate to have the support of
collectors located through-out the world and to learn about their amazing
collections. Artist, craftsmen and women have shared their passion for creating with
me and our readers and the experience continues to amaze me.
Folk-art can sometimes be undervalued, my hope is that people all around the world can begin to recognize the artistry, talent and amazing woodworking skills of Kokeshi artisans. That a new appreciation can lead to an expansion of the art and to the preservation of generations of artistry.
